More than one CEO has told me recently easy my job must have gotten over the last couple of years. The comments have been made on the assumption that burgeoning labour markets have generated wave after wave of unemployed talented job seeker beating a path to my door. After years of convincing them of the employees market, clearly they tell me the tide has turned. Unemployment in just about every developed economy remains excessively high and every Government should be focused on schemes that make creating jobs for private sector employers easier. However this sense that talent is now an abundant resource is not my experience and neither is evidenced by this years Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CiPD) 2010 Resource and Talent Planning Survey.
